Addressing a rally at Rewari on September 23, Rao, who was recently in the limelight for demanding a probe into land deals of Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, had said he was bidding goodbye to “Congress politics” and would not contest the next elections from Congress as he was upset with the “existing circumstances” in the party.

Singh, the bete noire of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has been sulking for quite some time especially after he was removed from the Union Council of Ministers about two years back.

He was in the limelight last month when he demanded a fair probe into the land deals of Vadra in his constituency on the outskirts of Delhi and punishment if he was guilty.

In the letter, the AICC general secretary reminded Rao that the news of his criticism of party's state government and his resignation was widely reported by media and that PCC chief Phulchand Mullana also confirmed about his public statements.
