New Delhi, Aug 1: Accusing the Congress of adopting “double standards”, the BJP today said it had asked B S Yeddyurappa to resign immediately after the Lokayukta report while the ruling party has not taken any action against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit despite Shunglu Committee “indicting” her.

Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu also questioned Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for maintaining silence on the Shunglu report on irregularities in projects executed for the Commonwealth Games and sought immediate removal of Dikshit.

He said the Congress was always questioning BJP's resolve to fight corruption by raking up the issue of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.

“We did it in Karnataka. We told the Chief Minister that he cannot continue in the post after the Lokayukta report. We swung into action immediately. Why does not Congress do it in Delhi? Why these double standards?” he asked.

Naidu, who was addressing the ‘monthly meeting' of Delhi BJP, also sought answers from the Congress on why it “protects people involved in corruption”.

The Shunglu Committee “indicted” Dikshit for irregularities in CWG projects, but the Prime Minister chose to remain silent on the issue.

The Congress did not take any action against Delhi PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, whose dismissal was recommended by Lokayukta.

“She should have been dismissed long back. Why is she not removed? The Prime Minister should give answer to these questions to the people,” he said.

Naidu said BJP workers in Delhi should expose the Congress government by educating people about its “misdeeds”. PTI
