Jammu: BJP today demanded action against Independent MLA Sheikh Abdul Rashid, saying that the legislator posed a threat to the social fabric of the state.
"BJP demands immediate action against Engineer Rashid as he has become a threat to the social fabric and communal harmony," BJP state spokesman Balbir Ram Rattan said here.
Rattan termed as "condemnable" Rashid's act of organizing a beef party at the MLA Hostel in Srinagar yesterday and said that it was a direct attack on the religious sentiments of a particular community.

"Any person indulging in such practice should be booked and put behind the bars," he said, adding that police should take cognizance of the matter and register a case against the Langate MLA.
