Hira Ba – Narendra Modi's mother:
Narendra Modi is known to visit his mother ‘Hira ba' quite often. His mother used to stay alone at her family residence at Vadnagar initially but later on, owing to falling health she shifted to the residence of her youngest son Pankaj bhai.
It is said that when Modi was taking oath as Gujarat Chief Minister for the first time in 2001, his mother had lost her way in the crowd. Somebody recognized her and gave her a seat.
Narenda Modi's father Damodar Das Modi is not alive. Modi's father was financially not very sound but he ensured good education for all his children including Narendra Modi.
