A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was today shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in Greater Noida.
According to reports, the deceased leader has been identified as Shiv Kumar. He was a headman of Tigri village in Bisrakh.
Police said that two guards who were accompanying the BJP leader, also lost their lives in the incident.
The assailants, police said, came close to the car of Kumar and fired gun shots. After the shots were fired, the driver lost control over the car and rammed it into a divider.
Reports say that two other occupants of the car were also severely injured. They were later rushed to a private hospital for medial relief.
