The Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh who was recently burnt alive by Islamic State was heavily sedated and was unaware of what was happening. A news report in Saudi Arabia's burnews.com says that Islamic State militant admitted of giving drugs to Kasasbeh to stop him from screaming.

The report also cites a study by experts who studied the video and observed that Kasasbeh's 'sensory centres' burned first and he did not feel any pain. The 22 minute video, titled 'Healing the Believers' Chests' was posted last week in which the Jordanian air force pilot's cage was burned with a trail of petrol.

ISIS wanted a prisoner exchange in return for the captured pilot. It demanded Sajida al-Rishawi, a female suicide bomber who has been executed in the retaliation by Jordanian authorities.

After ISIS released the video of the pilot being burnt alive, Jordan has launched a series of air strikes on the militant group's territory. Other than 56 air strikes in three days, Jordan has also executed two ISIS linked prisoners.

King Abdullah II, the ruling monarch of Jordan said that the terrorist organization is not only fighting the country but also against Islam and its pure values.

United States and its Arab allies have been striking ISIS in Syria and Iraq since September last year when it seized a large area of Syria and Iraq and declared a caliphate.
