1,492 new COVID-19 cases and 51 deaths reported today in Punjab. The total cases in the state rise to 32,695 including 862 deaths and 20,180 patients discharged. Active cases stand at 11,653. 

Delhi reported 787 new COVID-19 cases, 740 discharges/recoveries and 18 deaths today. The total number of cases now at 1,53,367 including 1,38,301 recovered/discharged/migrated cases, 10,852 active cases and 4,214 deaths. 

319 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Uttarakhand today, taking the state's total case tally to 12,493. 

753 new COVID-19 cases and 40 deaths reported in Mumbai today. The total number of cases now at 1,29,479 including 1,04,301 recovered/discharged cases, 17,707 active cases and 7,170 deaths. 

45 deaths and 3,080 fresh cases reported today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 1,19,578. The total number of active cases is 27,402 and 89,703 discharged cases. 

6,317 new COVID-19 cases (including 2,053 cases from Bengaluru Urban) and 115 deaths reported in Karnataka today. The total number of cases rises to 2,33,283 including 80,643 active cases, 1,48,562 discharges and 4,062 deaths. 

887 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths reported in Haryana today, taking the total number of cases to 48,040 and death toll to 550.  Active cases stand at 6,880. 

All members have to carry a negative COVID-19 test report and download the Aarogya Setu app. Social distancing norms will be followed while allotment of seats to the members, said GC Gupta, Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly ahead of the session from August 26.

4,186 COVID-19 cases, 4376 cases of discharge, and 69 deaths reported in the state in the last 24 hours. The total active cases in the state stand at 50893. The death toll stands at 2,515, a total of 1,04,808 patients discharged till date. 

The total COVID-19 cases in Chandigarh rises to 2,216, including 1,183 cured till date and 30 deaths. 

Telangana Assembly Session to commence from September 7 and will continue for 20 days. 

61 new positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed out of 577 samples tested - 34 in Dimapur, 24 in Kohima, 2 in Zunheboto, and 1 in Mokokchung. Necessary contact tracing activated and all primary contacts under self-isolation. 

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal discharged from AIIMS today. The Minister had tested positive for COVID-19 on 8th August.

Thailand's King has commuted death sentences of two Burmese men, Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo - alias Win Zaw Htun - convicted of murdering British backpackers Hanna Witheridge and David Miller. Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo were among many convicts in Thai prisons whose sentences were reduced under a clemency decree issued by King Maha Vajiralongkorn to mark his 68th birthday on July 28, their lawyer, Nadthasiri Bergman, confirmed. The decree, which appeared to cover thousands of prisoners, took effect Friday with its publication in the Royal Gazette.

Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals on Monday gained 7 per cent after the company posted an over two-fold increase in consolidated net profit for the first quarter ended June. The stock rose by 6. 96 per cent to Rs 508.50 on the BSE. At the NSE, it jumped 7 per cent to Rs 509. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals on Friday posted an over two-fold increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 254. 04 crore for the quarter ended June.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 109. 28 crore for the April-June period of 2019-20.

Samaresh Das, TMC MLA from Egra, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday has died. 

Mumbai: The rupee gained 8 paise to 74. 82 against the US dollar in opening trade on Monday tracking positive domestic equities and weak American currency. At the interbank forex market, the domestic unit opened at 74. 86 against the US dollar, gained further ground and touched 74. 82 against the US dollar, registering a gain of 8 paise over its previous close.

Ninety inmates of a government shelter home for girls here have tested positive for COVID-19, an official said on Sunday. Deputy Director of Women Welfare Department Nita Ahirwar said, "In the past two days, 90 inmates of Nari Niketan here have tested positive for COVID-19. All of them have been isolated." How the inmates got contracted the coronavirus infection is being investigated, sahe said.
