New Delhi: A Chinese man Xiao Wei lost his right hand in an industrial accident.
Xiao Wei .Xiao Wei spent seven hours waiting for the surgery to begin until his co-workers unplugged the machine and retrieved his hand.
After his hand was retrieved, he was rushed to a larger hospital in Changde, Hunan province.
When he was admitted to the hospital with his severed hand, doctors said they could re-attach the hand but not straightaway.
Chinese doctors saved the severed hand by attaching it to his ankle, creating some impossible anatomy in the process.
Doctors kept the hand alive by stitching it to his left ankle. Leg arteries leg were used as a blood supply.
After spending an entire month with his hand living attached to his ankle while his injured healed, the doctors successfully re-attached the hand to his arm.
Now doctors are expecting that Xiao Wei will regain full control of his hand
