New Delhi:  The CBI on Thursday registered six new FIRs in connection with its probe into the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.

The first case was registered against four accused for alleged irregularities in 2009 Pre-Medical Entrance Test, the CBI said in a release.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the second case against seven accused relating to alleged illegalities in the Police Constable Recruitment Test 2013 conducted by Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam), or the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB).

The probe agency registered the third First Information Report (FIR) against one accused relating to the alleged illegalities in the Police Constable Recruitment Test 2012.

The fourth case was registered against eight people relating to alleged illegalities in the Police Constable Recruitment Test conducted by Vyapam in 2013.

The agency registered the fifth case against two accused relating to alleged illegalities in the Police Constable Recruitment Test 2013.

The sixth case was registered against 21 accused relating to alleged illegalities in the Pre-Medical Entrance Test 2008.

The CBI has already registered 67 FIRs and launched 12 preliminary inquiries into the Vyapam scam.

The Supreme Court on July 9 handed over the Vyapam cases to the central investigating agency. Over 40 people linked with the scam have died under mysterious circumstances or committed suicide.
