"Today at about 1230 hours, some miscreants violated the orders of restrictions on movement in Maisuma Chowk," a police spokesman said.  The protesters were asked by police to disperse. However, they resorted to stone-pelting on police and CRPF personnel following which the security personnel used force, he said. Seven persons including two policemen received injuries.

A critically wounded person, who received pellet injuries, was rushed to a hospital where he was operated upon, police said.

"The injured persons have been identified as Yasir Rafiq Sheikh, Sajad Ahmad, Ishfaq Majeed, Aqib Majeed and Feroz Ahmad Dar, all residents of Maisuma", the spokesman said.  Two police constables Mukhtar Ahmad and Abdul Waheed have also received injuries, he said. PTI
