Muzaffarnagar, UP, May 19: Angry residents on Friday ransacked a power house near Gandhi Colony after a lineman was accidentally electrocuted while repairing a transformer.
Local residents said, Wasim and Sant Ram, two linemen were repairing the 11kv transformer when power was suddenly switched on catching Wasim unawares.
Wasim was badly burnt after being electrocuted and died on the spot.
Wasim's family members and local residents waited, but none of the senior officers of the local distcom arrived to console them.
The angry residents then turned their ire on the power house and went on a ransacking spree. Police had a tough time to control the mob.
