NCM to work with real estate website on Muslim property issue
New Delhi : National Commission for Minorities will work with a real estate website and Shehzad Poonawala, AIMA founder, to deal with cases of prejudice against Muslims in property matters.Poonawala and Sanjeev Bikhchandani of real
99acres.com will spread awareness among real estate broker community and educate them about the discriminatory practices, introduce a software check if a listing carries the name of any religion, caste or community and take other measures.
Poonawala had petitioned NCM against such practices earlier and also vocally campaigned on social media as well as TV and print media against such practices.
He had suggested to all stake-holders of the industry to create a fair housing policy that prohibits discrimination not just against Muslims but also those from other communities.
