New Delhi, May 29: Delhi Police is trying to solve the mystery of the nine luxury cars found from the rented farmhouse in Asola, from where South Indian actress Leena Maria Paul was arrested in a cheating case involving the state-owned Canara Bank.
Of the nine cars, a Mitsubishi sports car, that was originally of silver colour, has been changed to red. Police suspect it could be a stolen car.
The DL 2FHE 333 number plate of the seized Rolls Royce Phantom car, has its owner's address in Delhi's IP Extension. Another car, a Nissan GRT has a number plate DL8CY 4600, whose address belongs to one Sohan Lal Ahuja, resident of G-218, 1st floor, Narayana. Both the number plates appear to be fake.
Police is looking into the possibility of whether the cars were hired by the actress and her live-in friend, who is absconding.
Two police teams have gone to Narayana to verify the real owner of the Nissan GRT car. Experts said, both the Rolls Royce and Nissan GRT appeared to be second-hand cars.
