New Delhi: DelhioChief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met the Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday and threatened to sit on dharna with his ministers outside the Home Minister's office unless the police officials involved in an ugly spat with his cabinet ministers were suspended.

AAP  ministers Somnath Bharti and Rakhi Birla had spats with Delhi Police personnel earlier this week, in two cases.

While Bharti went on a midnight raid and rebuked cops for not acting against an alleged drug and sex racket run by foreigners, Birla had asked them to arrest a woman's in-laws for allegedly burning her.

Delhi Police chief rejected the demand of suspension of cops mentioning that the policeman was merely following procedure and it was Minister Somnath Bharti who broke the law.  Bharti and Birla have been accused of vigilantism.

Kejriwal on Friday set Delhi Police a January 20 deadline for taking action; his minister Manish Sisodia warned, “this government will fix the police”.

Later  Manish Sisodia said the Home Minister has promised to consider their request and would convey his decision in few days. “At least the police stations in the NDMC area should come under us, if the Centre wants to retain overall control.”
