New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly Harsh Vardhan yesterday shot off a letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asking him to help the citizens of Delhi get rid of the inflation at the earliest.
“Prices of commodities like water, cooking gas and CNG have risen soon after the formation of the new government led by AAP, which has further burdened the common people grappling with skyrocketing prices of food grains and all other essential commodities,” he wrote in the letter while claiming that citizens of Delhi spend 65-70 per cent of their income on food items.
Attacking AAP over its recent initiatives of providing 20 kilolitres of free water to every household and slashing of power tariff by 50 per cent, Vardhan claimed that only three per cent of Delhiites would gain from the move.
Vardhan also said that Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung in his address did not even mention about the rising prices.
The BJP leader also said that AAP chief Kejriwal is targetting small fishes and is not talking about taking action against those people guilty of corruption.
While carrying out their movement, Kejriwal had lodged complaint of corruption against the then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, he said.
“Will he answer the citizens of Delhi why action has not been initiated on that and whether he would pursue the matter and get action initiated against her,” Vardhan asked in the letter.
