The Algerian and Yemeni nationals had diplomatic immunity, and they were immediately released.

All the four accused had come in a Yemeni embassy car to the hotel, where the female employee was allegedly molested. 

In her statement to the police, the victim said, the four men tried to molest her after making obscene comments at the bustling Janpath market in Connaught Place on Monday at around 8 pm.

Sec 506 of IPC is related to criminal intimidation, while sec 509 relates to outraging the modesty of a woman.

The external affairs ministry Tuesday asked Delhi Police for details of four foreigners arrested -- later released -- for allegedly passing lewd comments at a woman here.

"We have asked for the details and will take it up with the concerned missions," a ministry spokesman said. He said the four have been released.

"None of them are serving diplomats. They have a diplomatic passport, they are relatives of diplomats," the official said.
