Coronavirus Pandemic: Coronavirus has claimed its second victim in India. A 68-year-old woman has passed away in New Delhi. The Press Information Bureau has confirmed this. First death due to COVID-19 (Novelcoronavirus) in India was reported late on Thursday (March 12) in Karnataka. The woman who passed away on Friday was mother of a man who was already found positive for Coronavirus.

Her son was travelling in Switzerland and Italy (a major hotspot of Coronavirus infections in Europe) between February 5 and February 22. He returned home on February 23. He did not show symptoms of Coronavirus initially but later developed cough and fever. As the man visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital along with his mother on March 7, both were screened and admitted as they had fever and cough.

The woman was found to be positive for Coronavirus. She was already suffering from diabetes and hypertension. Her condition worsened on and after March 9.
