CBI raids MK Stalin's residence

Chennai, March 21: Within less than two days of DMK pulling out of the UPA government, the Central Bureau of Investigation early this morning swung into action and raided DMK strongman M K Stalin's residence

The CBI raid comes in the wake of this case.

Stalin is considered to be a hardliner in DMK. He had been insisting on his father pulling out of the UPA, since the time  of 2G scam, in which the party's trusted leader A Raja and Karunanidhi's daughter were put behind bars.  Both have since come out on bail.

On Tuesday UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had told outgoing DMK minister and Karunanidhi's son M K Alagiri that his father should at least have spoken to her or the PM over withdrawal of support, but he did not. To this, Alagiri was reported to have replied that he was resigning in accordance with the party's decision.
