Security forces have destroyed three bunkers in Churachandpur district after militants launched rocket attacks in adjoining Bishnupur that killed one person and injured six others, a police statement said. Police have arrested a man from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly molesting an eight-year-old girl at her residence in Maharashtra's Thane district, an official said. The incident occurred on August 19 in Nandivali village of Kalyan, and the 48-year-old accused was placed under arrest on Friday after the victim's parents traced and nabbed him, he said.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has said nine FIRs were lodged and five government employees suspended for violations of the Model Code of Conduct in Jammu and Kashmir. At least five members of a family in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa district were attacked by a wolf on Friday (September 6), a senior police official said. The incident took place at around 2:30 am in Malgaon village in tribal-dominated Khalwa tehsil, nearly 20 km from the district headquarters, Harsud Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Sandeep Vaskale told media.
