Pune, Apr 27: Gandhian and social activist Anna Hazare, who suffers from osteoarthritis, has been admitted to a city hospital for treatment and rest, hospital authorities said today.
Hazare, who underwent a routine check up in the hospital on Monday, was admitted last night and administered an injection to relieve the pain in his knee, Dr Parag Sancheti, who is treating the activist, told PTI.
Sancheti said Hazare has been undergoing regular treatment at the hospital for his knee problem for quite some time and was expected to be "all right" shortly to carry out his schedules including the May 2 meeting in New Delhi of the Lokpal drafting committee.
"He has been advised rest because of exertion," he added.
Hazare's secretary Suresh Pathare, however, maintained that the anti-corruption crusader had not been admitted to hospital and was in his native village of Ralegan Siddhi. PTI
