Rahul Gandhi to set up task force on national security

Congress President Rahul Gandhi is going to set up a task force on national security headed by a retired Lt. General of the Indian Army, the Congress said on Thursday.

The task force would be headed by Lt Gen D.S. Hooda (retd) and prepare a vision paper for the country in consultation with a select group of experts.

Lieutenant General DS Hooda is the former General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Northern Command. He was the Northern Army Commander during the 'Surgical Strike' in 2016.
