Counting of votes in the Hassan parliamentary constituency has begun. Early trends show JDS leader Prajwal Revanna has taken a lead.
Hassan constituency saw the registered voters cast their ballot on April 12 with a turnout of over 77 per cent.
Hassan has traditionally been a JD(S) stronghold with former prime minister HD Deve Gowda winning the seat five times. Now that HD Deve Gowda is the chief minister of Karnataka, JD(S) has a new candidate from the seat.
Candidates in fray: Prajwal Revanna of JD(S) will be up against A Manju of the BJP.

Lok Sabha election 2014 result: HD Deve Gowda won the seat in 2014 with 46 per cent vote share while A Manju who fought the 2014 election on Congress ticket stood second with 37 per cent vote share.
