A day after Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir lashed out at Shahid Afridi for calling the situation in Kashmir “appalling and worrisome” and urging the United Nations to take action against India, noted Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar today slammed the former Pakistan cricket team captain.

In a tweet, Akhtar asked Afridi to ensure that Pakistani terrorists stop infiltrating into Indian side if he wants to see a peaceful Jammu and Kashmir without human rights violation.

He also asked Afridi to ensure that the Pakistani army stops supporting separatists who incite violence in Kashmir by closing down the terror camps running on their side.

“Dear Mr Afridi, since you want to see a peaceful JK sans any human rights violations could you please see to it that pak terrorists stop infiltrations n pak army stops supporting the separatists by closing down the training camps. It will greatly help in solving the problem,” tweeted Akhtar on Wednesday.

In his tweet yesterday, Afridi said that the situation in ‘Indian occupied Kashmir’ was appalling and worrisome, and urged the United Nations to stop the bloodshed.

“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?” tweeted the Pakistani cricketer.

Slamming Afridi, Gautam Gambhir said UN in Afridi’s retarded dictionary meant “UNDER NINTEEN” and that the former cricketer was just celebrating a dismissal of a no-ball.

“Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!,” Gambhir tweeted.

Later, in a tweet on Tuesday night, Afridi clarified that he had respect for everyone and said ‘Innocent Kashmiris’ too had human rights.

“We respect all. And this is an example as sportsman. But when it comes to human rights we expect the same for our innocent Kashmiris,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, photographs of Afridi meeting DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor of Pakistan army in last week of March, raising questions if Pakistan army is behind Afridi blaming India for the ‘atrocities’ in Kashmir.
