Gujarat Congress leader Paresh Dhanani on Tuesday suffered a minor heart attack in Nasik, Maharashtra, and was admitted to a hospital. Reports suggest that Dhanani underwent angioplasty and is in a stable condition.
It should be noted that Dhanani contested the Lok Sabha elections 2024 from Rajkot against BJP’s Parshottam Rupala who was facing discontent over his controversial remarks about Kshatriyas.
He had earlier defeated Rupala in the 2002 Assembly elections for the Amreli constituency. But Rupala still went on to claim the victory in Rajkot in the general election.
Dhanani has previously served as the Leader of Opposition in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
