When Microsoft founder Bill Gates says something, you should listen up. It's not always you get to hear practical, solid advice from someone who reached the pinnacle of success by sheer hard work and determination.

In a series of tweets, Bill Gates tells young grads about the privileges they are enjoying and how they can utilise their knowledge to build a successful career.

The wizard tweeted some wisdom and career advice for graduates. He began with some witty tweets and also posted a clipping from 1967 film, The Graduate, where Benjamin (Dustin Hoffman) is given some good advice by Mr McGuire.

He shared what he would have studied had he started his career in 2017. He finds Artificial Intelligence, energy and biosciences as promising fields and that's what he would have done if starting out at this time.

Reflecting on his college days, he says...

He realises intelligence is not as important as it is made out to be

And yes, Gates also has some regrets in life. His big regret is that when he left school, he knew little about the world’s worst inequities. Took him decades to learn.

Giving due credit to his wife Melinda Gates for constantly pushing him and challenging him to be the best he can, he says...

Which is Bill Gates' most inspiring book?

He says this is the most peaceful time in human history. Don't believe then, read the book.

He says, "It doesn’t mean you ignore the serious problems we face. It just means you believe they can be solved."

"This is the core of my worldview. It sustains me in tough times and is the reason I love my work. I think it can do same for you."

Gates reiterates - "This is an amazing time to be alive." And we trust you, Sir. Thank you for showing us the right path.
