Eid Mubarak: Make your festival sweeter with easy-to-prepare ‘Shahi Tukda’

New Delhi: For Muslims, Eid is the most awaited festival which comes after the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims celebrate this festival with full joy and love by gathering with their family members to exchange gifts and feasts. In order to feel the piousness and serenity on the festival, Muslim men go to Eidgah for prayers while women cook the special dishes, which are not part of their routine.

So, as the Muslims in India are gearing up to celebrate the festival, here we present you the recipe of a mouth-watering dish. Go for ‘kuch meetha ho jaye’ with this delicious recipe of Shahi Tukda.
 
 
Ingredients
 
4 slices of bread cut into different shapes, 6 cups of milk, 3 tbl sp sugar for rabdi, 1/2 cup (for sugar syrup), 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup ghee, 1/2 tsp  Cardomom Powder, 1/2 tsp Saffron, 2 tsp Chopped Nuts (Almonds, Pista, Cashews) and 1 tsp Dates Syrup 
 
Method

1. Boil milk for 40-45 min on medium heat till it reduces to 1/4th of its original volume. This thick condensed milk is called rabdi.  
2. Add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron in the condensed milk.
3. Boil the mixture of sugar and water for few minutes to make sugar syrup. 
4. Cut the bread into different shapes.
5. Now heat ghee on a frying pan and roast slices of bread until it get golden brown. 
6. Soak all the fried bread slices in the sugar syrup for 30 seconds.
7. Place sugar soaked bread slices in a plate. 
8. Spread adequate amount of rabdi on the slices.
9. Garnish the sweet dish with chopped nuts and dates syrup.

Sweet and crunchy ‘Shahi Tukda’ is ready to serve with softdrinks. Enjoy your Eid with this delicious sweet and spread love.
