The Income Tax department has recovered crores of rupees from the house of a former Congress leader. According to Income Tax Department sources, the raid was conducted on Thursday night in RT Nagar area of ​​Bengaluru.

During the search, the house of former Congress corporator Ashwathamma and one of his relatives was searched when a huge cache of money was found inside a carton box. Further investigation is underway.

A few days ago, another Congress leader was also raided as part of its investigation into an alleged scam at the Shivamogga District Cooperative Central (DCC) Bank. According to ED sources, the raids were conducted at Congress leader R M Manjunath Gowda's residence in Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, his relative H C Usha’s house in Shivamogga town, and in Bengaluru, among other properties.
