The notorious piracy website Tamilrockers have now threatened openly to leak Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 after leaking Thugs of Hindostan and Vijay’s Sarkar. It has become a menace for the film industry as the makers lose millions of money when websites like these leak the movie for free. In a tweet that surfaced on the Twitter handle of Tamilrockers, it was written, “#2Point0 Coming Soon in Tamil Rockers.”
After the tweet went viral, Twitter suspended their account, but in few minutes itself, the hoodlums created a new account and wrote, “#2Point0 #2point0November #2Point0FromNov29 #Rajinikanth #Rajini #SuperStar #TR #TamilRockers. Our Old Account Suspended @TamilRockersMV.”
Around Sarkar’s release, The Tamil Film Producers Council informed the distributors of the film that a portal which shares the pirated versions of films has threatened to leak the film online. Several movies are being leaked on the portal few hours of the release itself.
Thugs of Hindostan was released the very next day from its release date, leaving the makers in shock. The movie buffs are also expressing their anger over this notorious movie sharing website. The fans even urged the movie makers to take some stringent measures to keep such websites in check.
2.0 directed by Shankar is Robot’s (Enthiran) sequel. It marks the return of Rajinikanth as Chitti robot. This time, Akshay Kumar will play the menacing villain in the film. It is going to be Akshay’s first Tamil film in his entire film career. 2.0 is also the costliest film ever made in Indian cinema with a budget of around Rs 550 crores. If the movie is leaked, it’s going to affect its business greatly, ultimately affecting the film producers whose millions of money relies on the box office collection. 2.0 will hit the theatres on November 29.
