After the huge success of Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju, a biopic on Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, Ram Gopal Verma is planning his own version of Sanju. Varma is all set to make a biopic on the darker side of the actor's life with the tentative title Sanju: The Real Story. The filmmaker who is known for his contribution in realistic and dark cinemas reportedly plans to unveil the truth behind Dutt's involvement in the arms case and 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.
Well, there has been no official confirmation from Sanjay Dutt's side but when his sister, Namrata Dutt was asked about the same, she was unhappy with it. She is clearly not in favour of the project and doesn't want the filmmaker to picturise the haunting past of her family. In an interview to Mid-Day, she said, ''It was an unfortunate episode in Sanjay’s life. He has moved past it. Why is Varma bringing up the past again?''
''His movies are dark. Why do you want to go on and on about Sanjay’s life? Why is he putting us through so much pain again? If Sanjay gives a go-ahead, we are nobody to say no to him,'' she said. On the other hand, Varma has confirmed that he is making the film, however, he has not divulged details of his film and cast.
Varma is known for his popular works like Satya, Veerappan, Sarkar and Rangeela among others.
