Riteish Deshmukh remembers 'mass leader and true visionary' Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary
Bollywood actor-producer Riteish Deshmukh, who will be seen next in Housefull 4 remembered the seventh Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as a true visionary and a mass leader on the occasion of hi birth anniversary. The 39-year-old took to his Twitter handle, writing, "Remembering Bharat Ratna Shri #RajivGandhi ji on his birth anniversary today. Mass leader & a true visionary. Your work will forever inspire us sir. #SadbhavnaDivas #RememberingRajiv"
Alongside, he uploaded pictures of his late father and politician Vilasrao Deshmukh with Gandhi.
Born on August 20, 1944, Rajiv Gandhi represented Uttar Pradesh's Amethi parliamentary constituency four times. He assumed office as the prime minister after the assassination of his mother, then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984.
The youngest Prime Minister of India was assassinated in a suicide bombing at Tamil Nadu's Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991, and was later cremated at Veer Bhumi, on the banks of the river Yamuna.
Recently, Riteish Deshmukhpenned an emotional note on his father Vilasrao Deshmukh’s sixth death anniversary. Vilasrao was the former Maharashtra Chief Minister who passed away on 14 August 2012 due to multiple organ failure. Riteish took to his Instagram to share a picture with his father and captioned it, “I look up at the sky and I talk to you…. What I wouldn’t give to hear you talk back. It’s been 6 years….. There is one thing that changed when you left… Everything!!! Miss you PAPPA !!!!”.
Riteish is a successful Bollywood actor and a father of two. He made his acting debut with the Marathi film Lai Bhaari which was one of the highest grossing Marathi film. The actor has also produced a Marathi film titled Balak Palak which was a Box Office hit. The actor will soon be seen in his upcoming Marathi venture Mauli. The film is written by Kshitij Patwardhan and produced by Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Mauli will releases on December 21, 2018 as announced by the Riteish and his wife Genelia.
