The #MeToo wave is on a high tide in India these days and especially Bollywood is the main target area when it comes to stories of sexual abuse being popped up. After celebrities like Rajat Kapur, Kailash Kher, Vikas Bahl and others, another actor’s name has come to the forefront who is accused of harassing a 16-year-old. Television and Bollywood actor Rohit Roy has been accused of harassing a 16-year-old girl and it is said that he still continues to do so.

A journalist took to her social media to share the screenshots of a chat, wherein the anonymous victim shared her predicament against the actor. According to a report in BollywoodLife, Rohit Roy has refused to acknowledge the allegations and has said that ‘they are diluting the actual case.’ The journalist shared the screenshots saying, “Anonymous account from a woman who's been persistently harassed by actor Rohit Roy (@/rohitroy500) since she was 16. The clincher? He hasn't yet stopped preying on her.”

Rohit Roy told BollywoodLife, “I don’t even know what to respond.” He refused to acknowledge the alleged incident and accuser. He further added, “What sad is, that they are diluting the actual cause.” The actor feels putting such “random” allegations would only cause hinderance, as everyone right now wants to know the truth. “I don’t need why she had to write my name.”

When asked if he plans to take any actions against the false claims, he questioned the authenticity of the person tweeting, and the screenshots as all the posts read similarly. “I’m not planning to do anything. I’m not commenting (anymore). I don’t know what they will get. It’ll just derail the other process. Even you shouldn’t pay much heed to this," Roy said.

Well, it’s hard to say who is right on what part in this case. Even director-producer Mahesh Bhatt claimed that it is important to hear both sides of the story. He was imperative that both the survivor and the accused are given a fair chance to share their side of the story before the masses decide the verdict.
