Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Aanand L Rai and others meet PM Narendra Modi in Delhi
With the aim of acknowledging Indian film fraternity’s contribution in nation economy, renowned filmmakers and actors met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday. Rajkumar Hirani, Aanand L Rai, Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur were among the list of filmmakers and producers who met PM Modi. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan also accompanied the film producers and filmmakers to discuss several important agendas with the Prime Minister.
A source stated to DNA, “Bollywood is one of the highest grossing industries of our nation and is also very influential globally. In order to discuss the status of the industry and the day to day issues faced by the people involved in the field, the producers, as well as Aamir Khan, took to the Prime Minister to discuss the same. It was a collaborative effort of all the people involved to come forward and seek solutions from the Prime Minister directly and address these issues.”
The source further revealed, ‘’It turned out to be a very productive and lucrative meeting, Modi Ji himself revealed the fact how in each of his global meetings with delegates from all over the world, Indian cinema is always been discussed and appreciated in depth. He agreed to the fact that Bollywood movies have gained recognition and prominence internationally.’’
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh sharing the pic from the meeting, wrote, ‘’Hon Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi meets film industry delegation: Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Aanand L Rai, Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Maulik Bhagat and Mahaveer Jain... How entertainment industry can contribute more in nation building was discussed.’’
