New Delhi: Kangna Ranaut and R. Madhavan's sequel to 4-year old Tanu Weds Manu has managed to captivate the audiences' hearts more than any other film this year.
The sequel titled as ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns' (TWMR) has successfully crossed the Rs 150 crore mark in its sixth week surpassing the simultaneously running ‘Dil Dhadakne Do' and ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahaani'. The film is in theatres since 22nd May.
As tweeted by trade guru Taran Adarsh, the film minted total of Rs 150.3 crore in its sixth week. He quoted the figures of all the weeks –
#TWMReturns [Week 6] Fri 22 lacs, Sat 36 lacs, Sun 52 lacs, Mon 19 lacs, Tue 18 lacs, Wed 17 lacs, Thu 15 lacs. Total: ₹ 150.03 cr. (sic)
While for the parallel running ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahaani', he remarked that the film has managed to amass Rs 37. 57 crore in its 3rd week.
For ‘Dil Dhadakne Do', he quoted a figure of Rs 76. 88 crore in 4 weeks time.
In all, it seems that the queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut's charm is working on the audience this year as well. Her ‘swagger' in the TWMReturns has worked wonders yet again. Though we cannot deny appreciating R. Madhavan's subtle nature and Deepak Dobriyal's wit also. Credit goes to the talented supporting cast of Jimmy Shergill and Swara Bhaskar as well.
