Bangalore: An anonymous stalker is giving nightmares to movie star Ramya. He sends her obscene messages on her phone, and sometimes threatens her. All of which hasn't really bothered her.
But what has made Ramya paranoid, reports Mumbai Mirror, is that the man seems to be a kind of insider. He seems to know everything she does: her new dress at an exclusive do, her shooting at a locale in another city, when she is at the gym or visiting close friends.
Ramya revealed that she has been getting calls and SMSes from the stalker's number (968626****) for a couple of months.
Unwilling to draw media attention by filing a police complaint, she has tried every trick to evade him. But with little success so far.
“I can usually ignore such callers. But this guy is getting creepy. When I came back from Chennai (where she's shooting for the Tamil film Kadhal 2 Kalyanam) recently and visited the gym, he messaged me saying, ‘Good to see you back in Bangalore.'
At a party, his SMS said, ‘You are looking very nice,' and recently he even mentioned the door number of my new home. This has affected me psychologically,” Ramya said. Some of his messages are obscene.
She confided in her friends who called him. He was hardly deterred, but instead abused them. Ramya has so far desisted from changing her number. “Last time I changed my number, it was very hard letting all my friends and people in the industry know. It is a tedious job,” she explained.
Ramya also took the help of service provider Airtel. They found out that the man had got the SIM card by providing a fake address.
Airtel reportedly told him to furnish his correct address, failing which they would terminate his connection. He seems unperturbed. He sent Ramya an SMS saying exactly that, and about how he would still find a way to call her. “I am really scared now,” Ramya said.
