Renewing her attack on Bollywood 'gang', Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut opened up about lack of support for her recently released film within the film fraternity. At a press interaction, the actress was asked about the same and she was in a take-no-prisoners mood. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was not promoted by any Bollywood actors or celebrities, so when Kangana was asked about its impact, the Queen said, "How will it benefit me? I've already won 3-4 national awards. At the age of 31, I am a filmmaker. Khud ko he promote kar le bohot badi baat hai (it would be a big deal if they can promote themselves). Is Rani of Jhansi my aunt? She's as much mine as she's yours. Then why are these people scared? They are worried just because I spoke on nepotism? They have formed a gang: 'Why did she speak on nepotism?" The actor said Manikarnika was for the next generation and the film wasn't about Kangana.

"They have all gathered together, like a classroom where 59 have ganged up against one, trying to bully one. How will you feel if someone did that? Aren't they ashamed? Some of them are my grandfather's age. They are after me. Don't they feel ashamed that it's not about me. I don't even want to work with them and I've said that often," she said. For unversed, Kangana had triggered a debate after she appeared on Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan, two years ago and called him the "torchbearer of nepotism" in the industry for launching star kids

"What Bollywood is doing, the planning and plotting, one thing is for sure, earlier I used to call them out for sexism, nepotism or pay disparity, but now I'll be after them. 'Inki vaat laga dugi'. I'll expose each and every one. They have asked for trouble by ganging up against me," she added.

Kangana also targeted Alia Bhatt and Aamir Khan for not coming out in support of her project. Earlier in an interview to Pinkvilla, she had said, ''These girls send me their trailers like Alia (Bhatt) sent me the trailer of Raazi and said, 'Please watch it'. For me, it was not a Karan Johar film or Alia film, for me, it was a film on Sehmat Khan, the girl who has given her everything to the country. When Aamir Khan called me for Dangal, Secret Superstar, I went all the way to Ambani house. Dangal, for me, was a film about women empowerment. But they don't have time for any of my trails. I have two-three films coming up, but I don't expect people to write about them."

On a related note, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi got embroiled in controversy over directing credit. The movie created a storm ever since its announcement. In the tussle, Pooja Bhatt, Bejoy Nambiar and Apurva Asrani backed Krish while veteran actresses Waheeda Rehman and Asha Parekh praised Kangana for her directorial debut.
