Sold on Gold: Virender Sehwag shares early review of Akshay Kumar’s Gold (In Pic)

Upcoming Bollywood film Gold, featuring Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy is all set to hit the cinemas on Independence Day. Popular cricketer Virender Sehwag has watched the sports drama and, has shared his early review of the film. He saw Gold with his family and shared his thoughts about the film on his social media account. A special screening of the film was organized in Delhi two days ago. Akshay Kumar, Reema Kagti, Ritesh Sidhwani and Mouni Roy had attended the film’s special screening. 

Virender Sehwag shared a picture of himself with wife Aarti and their sons, along with Gold star Akshay Kumar and wrote, “Totally sold on watching Gold. Wonderful, inspiring film. Thank you, Akshay Kumar.”

Recently, Akshay Kumar took to Instagram to share a picture of the celebration on the occasion of 70 years of India’s first Gold and captioned it as, “Tomorrow is the day, 70 years ago India won its first Gold medal as a free nation! I take immense pride in sharing, in this honour, landmark locations across India will be turning Gold tomorrow, 7 pm onwards. Join us and unite for India's first Gold. #IndiaTurnsGold #UniteForGold”

In the movie, Akshay plays manager Tapan Das, who led India to its first Olympic gold as an independent nation in a fictional 1948. The Sunday screening also saw legendary hockey player Balbir Singh in attendance.

Gold is directed by Reema Kagti and is based on first-ever Olympic gold medal after Independence. The movie focuses on the Golden era of Indian hockey. Besides Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy, the film promises power-packed performances by an ensemble cast – Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Nikita Dutt. 

The film is all set to release on August 15.
