Shahid Kapoor reveals the reason of doing Ranveer-Deepika’s ‘Padmavati’

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who has been roped in for ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’, says he is looking forward to shoot for the periodical drama.

Shahid will be seen playing the role of Padmavati’s husband Raja Ratan Singh in the movie.


The actor stated also shared on what made him agree for ‘Padmavati’ saying that it’s a big and a challenging movie for him to do as an actor. Besides, he is also excited for his role in the movie.

Shahid also stated that he is also keen to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as ‘he is a fantastic filmmaker’.

“After working with Vishal Bhardwaj, to be working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali... It's an amazing place to be in. I feel very fortunate as an actor”, Shahid said.

Interestingly, this is the first time Shahid Kapoor will be working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Sasha, has recently wrapped up the shooting of Vishal Bhardwaj’s directorial ‘Rangoon’, also starring Kangana Ranut and Saif Ali Khan.

The ‘Udta Punjab’  actor, who became a fath in July this year, is currently enjoying his fatherhood and will begin shooting for ‘Padmavati’ in a few weeks.

‘Padmavati’ also features Deepika Padukone as the female lead, while her beau Ranveer Singh will portray the role of antagonist Allauddin Khilji. The periodical drama is expected to release in December next year.
