Total Dhamaal: Director Indra Kumar reveals why Sanjay Dutt couldn't be a part of the film

Sanjay Dutt, who was part of both two previous films of Dhamaal franchise couldn't be part of the latest one.

Sanjay Dutt was upset over not being part of Total Dhamaal

Total Dhamaal is director Indra Kumar's third instalment of Dhamaal franchise. The trailer of the movie was launched today at an event in Mumbai, which was attended by the cast and crew of the film. Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever were present at the trailer launch. They arrived in a jeep waving at the paparazzi. While Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor will be seen in Dhamaal franchise for the first time, Arshad, Riteish Deshmukh and Javed Jaffrey have been retained. Sanjay Dutt, who was part of both two previous film couldn't be part of the latest one due to unavailability of dates. When director Indra Kumar was asked about his absence from the adventure comedy, he said, "It would have been a lot more fun if Sanjay Dutt had been there but his dates were not available. It left both of us unhappy."

Total Dhamaal also marks reunion of Madhuri and Anil after 2000 film Pukaar. Talking about her experience of working with Anil again, the actress said that he has not changed in all these years."I don't think Anil can ever change. He will always be the same. He is one of a kind. It's always a pleasure working with him. I'm working with Ajay also after a long time. It was wonderful working with everyone," she added.

Total Dhamaal is about a bunch of greedy goofballs who want to make their fortune with Rs 50 crore bounty. They kick-start an adventurous ride only to be pitted against zoo animals. There is situational comedy and pairing of Madhuri and Anil as a bonus. What more do you want? Total Dhamaal is scheduled to release on February 22.  

On a related note, Sanjay Dutt will next be seen in Kalank, Torbaaz and Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama Panipat. While Torbaaz has Nargis Fakhri as the female protagonist, Panipat also has Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in important roles.
