Kalank song First Class: Varun Dhawan grooves with Kiara Advani while Alia gets hitched to Aditya Roy Kapur

The second song from upcoming period drama film Kalank has been dropped by the makers just a day after Holi. Titled First Class, it’s a peppy dance number with the retro feels in the music. Varun Dhawan as Zafar dances the night off to drown away his sorrow (perhaps because his ladylove Alia aka Roop is getting married to someone else). Varun Dhawan, whom we know as a fantastic dancer, flaunts his moves with Kiara Advani who is another good dancer from the lot. The costumes in the song do justice to the era they are filmed around. The neighbourhood also looks apt and not made up.

However, Kiara Advani whom we have seen as the modern young woman in Lust Stories, seems to be out of place in the song. There’s a room for improvement when it comes to matching Varun Dhawan’s energy in the song. Nevertheless, one or two flaws here and there are ignorable amid the grandeur and vivacity of the set.

Earlier, another song from the film Kalank was dropped, tiled Ghar More Pardesiya. It has Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit matching their steps in the video.

Kalank, helmed by Abhishek Varman, was previously named Shiddat. Although, later it was renamed to Kalank for reasons the makers better know. Sridevi was supposed to play the role of Bahaar Begum in the film, however, her untimely demise made the makers rope in Madhuri Dixit for the role. Starring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in important roles, Kalank is scheduled to release on April 17.
