New Delhi: New releases of Friday will not impact the collections of multi starrer comedy movie ‘Housefull 3’, something which the box office reports from yesterday reveal. Bollywood saw two releases, ‘TE3N’ and ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’ yesterday and both of them had disastrous opening on the first day.

The thriller TE3N, despite boasting a star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, managed to earn only around Rs 2.65 crores on its opening day, said media reports. The movie released Pan India on nearly 1,100 screens and saw an average occupancy of 15%.

Critics felt that the performances were amazing but the plot was sloppy.

Here is what trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the movie.

The romantic drama of Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal, fared worse than TE3N. With a release on 700 screens and an average occupancy of 7 to 8%, the film raked earned around Rs 1.20 crores at the box office.

Many critics felt that the stars Randeep and Kajal deserved a better movie than this, which was a huge letdown in terms of direction.

Here are Taran’s tweets about it.

This clearly indicates that last week’s ‘Housefull 3’ will mint more money in the coming days. The comedy film, directed by Sajid-Farhad, had an above average second Friday as it earned Rs 4 crores approximately.

Bagging Rs 84.10 crores by end of second Friday, it has emerged as the second highest week 1 grosser of 2016. Going by these figures, this Akshay Kumar starrer will join the Rs 100 crore club by 14th June.
