Ayushmann Khurrana is on a roll these days. After the phenomenal success of his last two films- Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho, the actor is loaded with interesting Bollywood films. He is already experimenting with his roles in films like Dream girl and will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in Article 15. Now, the latest buzz around the actor reveals that he is all set to reunite with filmmaker Ananad L. Rai for the second installment of their successful film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The original film starrer Ayushmann with Bhumi Pednekar where he had a erectile dysfunction. However, this time it is said to be a gay love story.

The 2017 hit Shubh Mangal Saavdhan received good reviews from fans and critics for dwelling on a quirky and different topic. This time again Anand L. Rai has chosen a rarely touched topic to entice the viewers to the theaters. It is said that the first draft of the script is already locked up and the actor will start shooting for the film by the end of August. The film will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule with the entire ensemble cast and the makers are targeting an early 2020 release. While Ayushmann has been roped in, the other actor is still to be cast. Taran Adarsh took to his social media to confirmed the news.
Going by the reports in Mumbai Mirror, a source revealed to the publication, “The first draft of the script has been locked. This time the makers have decided to bring homosexuality as the main theme in a mainstream Hindi film.” Producer Aanand L Rai confirmed the news, saying, “The Shubh Mangal Saavdhan franchise is our tribute to the churning that keeps our society alive. Every installment will deal with a topic that touches every person but no one wants to speak about it publicly. Like the first film, this one too will broach a taboo subject with great sensitivity and light humour. I anticipate a lot of conversations and cheer around the second film too.”
The source further added, “It revolves around how a conservative family comes to terms with the fact that their son is gay. The humour is situational.” While the original was based on the 2013 Tamil film, Kalyana Samayal Saadham, and marked the Bollywood debut of its director RS Prasanna, the sequel will be helmed by Hitesh Kewalya who had written the earlier social comedy. revealed a source close to the development.
Ayushmann will wrap up the shoot of Bala, the film he announced a few days ago, and then will kickstart shooting for Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.
