Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ seems to have developed a habit of staying in news. Before the release, ADHM made it to national headlines and the trend did not die after it hit screens. The fresh row that the movie sparked was when legendary singer Mohammed Rafi’s son Shahid took offence over a dialogue. While many people have dissed KJo for being irresponsible, the filmmaker addressed this issue with a late night tweet.

The dialogue in mention is the one in which Anushka Sharma’s character Alizeh tells Ranbir Kapoor aka Ayan that Mohammed Rafi used to cry and not sing. This led to a huge hue and cry with popular singer Sonu Nigam saying that would Karan approve this dialogue if his father was in question.

Later, even filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra added fuel to the controversy saying that he doesn’t wish to watch ADHM. “I just watched this movie (Ventilator) and if you watch it, you will forget about all other movies and their controversies. This is good cinema,” he reportedly said at the premiere of Priyanka Chopra produced Marathi movie Ventilator.

While there have been statements about the dialogue, Karan Johar chose to reply to them with a sarcastic tweet. In a tweet, KJo called out filmmakers for making irresponsible comments and singers revelling in self-importance.

On a related note, Pahlaj Nihalani, chief of Central Board Of Film Certification, has reportedly ordered enquiry on the matter. He has directed to find out how the goof-up happened and the dialogue made the cut.
