The Election Commission on Saturday issued an advisory to all national and state political parties asking them to not use photos of defence personnel in campaign materials.
The advisory asks political parties to 'desist from displaying photographs of Defence personnel or photographs of functions involving defence personnel in advertisements, or otherwise as part of their election propaganda/campaigning'.
The advisory has been issued after a complaint by Ministry of Defence to the EC.
