Kanhaiya Kumar most educated among all Delhi candidates, two from AAP studied till class 11: Details

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting polls in all seven seats in Delhi while Congress and AAP are fighting elections together. Both are part of the Opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc.

Lok Sabha elections 2024: Polling in all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital is set to take place in the sixth phase on May 25. The BJP has replaced six of its seven incumbent candidates in Delhi while Congress and AAP are contesting the polls in alliance. The AAP is fighting elections in four seats and the 'Grand Old Party' on three. Out of the 14 key candidates in the national capital, BJP's Manoj Tiwari, who is a candidate from North East Delhi, is the richest among all while Congress' Kanhaiya Kumar is the most educated of all.

Delhi Lok Sabha candidates education and assets

Kanhaiya Kumar holds MPhil and DPhil degress from Jawaharlal Nehru University and has an asset worth Rs 10.72 lakhs. Manoj Tiwari completed M.P.Ed. degree from Banaras Hindu University and has a total asset of Rs 28.05 crore.

BJP's South Delhi candidate Ramvir Singh Bidhuri comes second on the richest list in the national capital having a total asset worth Rs 21.08 crore.

BJP's New Delhi candidate, Bansuri Swaraj, who is the daughter of former External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj, is fourth among the richest candidates having a total asset worth Rs 19 crore.

Bansuri has completed undergraduate studies at the University of Warwick with a B.A. (Hons) in English Literature. After this, she persued Law at BPP Law School in London. She qualified as a Barrister at Law and also completed Masters of Studies from St. Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford.

On the fifth position among richest candidates, its BSP candidate Rajkumar Anand, who is a AAP turncoat. His total asset is worth Rs 17.87 crore.

From West Delhi, BJP's Kamaljeet Sehrawat has a total asset of Rs 1.30 crore movable and Rs 27.60 lakh immovable assets. He holds a Masters degree in Commerce from Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla.

Next one is BJP's candidate from Chandni Chowk, Praveen Khandelwal (64) whose net worth is Rs 6.62 crore while AAP's candidate from East Delhi Kuldeep Kumar (35) has Rs 21.41 lakh worth of movable assets. Kuldeep Kumar is a dropout from Shyam Lal College, Delhi University.

Two more AAP candidates including Mahabal Mishra and Sahi Ram are just class 11 pass. Mahabal is AAP's candidate from West Delhi while Sahi Ram from South Delhi.

Mahabal Mishra is third on the rich list and has a total asset worth Rs 19.93 crore whereas Sahi Ram has a total of Rs 34.80 lakh worth of movable assets and over Rs 1 crore immovable assets.

Congress candidate from North West Delhi, Dr Udit Raj has Rs 5.54 crore worth of movable and Rs 60 lakh immovable assets. He completed Master of Arts from Osmania University 1988 and received an honorary doctorate in humanities from Bible College and Seminary Kota, Rajasthan in 2003.

AAP's Somnath Bharti completed his post-graduate M.Sc. from IIT Delhi and pursued a degree in law at Delhi University. He served IIT Delhi Alumni Association as its Secretary for 2007-08 and 2011–12 and as IIT Delhi Senator in 2008.
