Sugar remains weak on poor offtake, good supply

Mumbai:Sugar prices remained weak at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sluggish demand from traders amid adequate supplies.

 
Medium sugar (M-30) dropped by Rs 90/10 per quintal to settle at Rs 3,192/3,432 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 3,282/3,442.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 3,126/3,270 per quintal as against Rs 3,126/3,271 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,192/3,432 (Rs 3,282/3,442).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,126/3,270 (Rs3,126/3,271).
