New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio Infocomm has just launched an IM app, the Jio Chat, on iOS and Android. The app is available for download from the App Store and Google Play.
The new app offers features like video chat, voice calling, messaging, conferencing, audio notes, instant video, doodles, stickers, and emoticons. The app will also have location sharing and status sharing features.
The chat platform competes against the likes of WhatsApp, BBM, Line, WeChat, and Hike.
Just like the BBM Channels, the app also offers Jio Chat Channels – allowing users to stay updated about their favorite celebrities, brands, or even entertainment, news etc. Contacts will also be automatically synced upon download of the app, and free SMS invites to friends can be sent.
The app also has an offline chat option, which can be used to store typed messages after which they can be sent once the recipient or user comes online.
