Buyer's Guide: Top 25 phones searched by 1 million Indians

New Delhi, Oct 29: As festive season is fast approaching many of us might be planning to buy a new smartphone and information about what other mobile consumers are searching will be quite handy.According to the data collected by a study of online preferences of about one million people who visited the themobileindian.com in September this year we present you the top 25 phones searched phones by Indian.In the list six of the top 25 handsets are from Samsung, five each from Micromax and Sony Mobiles, two from Nokia and Karbonn and one each from LG Mobiles, HTC, Asus, Intex and iBall. Apart from that 23 of the top 25 handsets are Android-based ones, while two are feature phones.Nokia Asha 311 (Rs 6,550)The Nokia Asha 311 is a compact touch screen device that comes with a bright and colourful 3 inch scratch resistant capacitive display with polarization filters for a better visual experience. With WiFi and 3.5G connectivity, users can experience blazing fast internet and downloads on this device.The Asha 311 comes with pre-loaded social client for accessing Facebook, Twitter and many other social networks. It also has the most popular messaging service "WhatsApp". The Nokia Asha 311 also features a 3.2 megapixel camera and pre-installed Nokia Maps, in addition to the 15 level pre-bundled versions of Angry Birds. Along with that the device is powered with a powerful 1 GHz processor for smooth performance all round.It comes with Angry Birds preloaded as well. Besides, it has expandable memory of 32 GB and 1110 mAh battery that according to the company gives a talktime of 14 hours and standby time of 696 hours over 2G network. However, maximum 3G talktime is six hours.Micromax A87 (Rs 6,050)Micromax A87 is powered by android 2.3.5 OS and 1 GHz Qualcomm processor. It has a display screen size of 4.0 inch with full capacitive touch screen.On connectivity front it has Bluetooth and 3G support.Sony Xperia Tipo (Rs 9,500)The Xperia Tipo is a single SIM rendition of the Xperia Tipo Dual which obviously comes with dual SIM configuration support. The device comes with a dual SIM (GSM + GSM) functionality as well.Karbonn A18 (Rs 9,790)Karbonn A18 market is based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and comes with 4.3 inch IPS (In Plane Switching) for wide angle viewing. The screen has a decent 800×480 resolution. The phone has the same specification as the single SIM version.LG Optimus L3 Dual e405 comes with two SIM slots, both of which support GSM SIM cards. The company launched phone's single-SIM variant earlier in May this year.LG Optimus L3 Dual runs on Android 2.3 and is powered by an 800 MHz processor. Besides, it has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, 8.9 cm HVGA screen, Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and a 3 GB internal memory.Micromax A25 (Rs 3,900)Micromax Smarty A25 comes with a decent 1 GHz processor, though with only 256 MB RAM. The Dual SIM phone is based on Android 2.3.6 operating system and comes with a 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen.However, to make it cheap, Micromax has sacrificed a lot of features including 3G, proximity sensor, and GPS.Samsung Galaxy Chat GT B5330 (Rs 8500)The Samsung Galaxy Chat GT B5330 is the upgraded version of the Galaxy Y Pro and comes with a much improved user interface along with the all new Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 operating system.The Galaxy Chat comes with a 3 inch TFT LCD display with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution. Featuring capacitive touch, the Galaxy Chat fully supports multi touch and swipe functionality. Along with that for better experience for texting and messaging, the Galaxy Chat features a full Qwerty keypad and feather touch action keys as well.The new Galaxy Chat features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz UI layered on top of it. A90 and has a 1 GHz processor.Other feaqtures include dual-SIM support, and an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash.Intex Aqua 4.0 (Rs 5,500)The dual SIM Intex Aqua 4.0's 3.5-inch display boasts 2 point touch input and a resolution of 480x320 pixels. It runs on an 800 GHz processor and has 512 MB of ROM. The device comes with 131 MB built-in storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB via a micro SD card. The device also has a rear-facing 3 megapixel camera and a front-facing 0.3 megapixel camera.The handset is equipped with three sensors - Gravity, Light and Proximity. For connectivity, Intex Aqua has WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP and 3G with speeds up to 7.2 Mbps.Sony Xperia Ion (Rs 35,300)At about 10.6 mm thick, the new Xperia Ion is a power-packed device with a large 4.6 inch touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixel native resolution. Besides, the phone also features Near Field Communication support and will be compatible with Sony SmartTags.Samsung Galaxy SIII (34900)Samsung Galaxy SIII has a 4.8 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel resolution HD Super Amoled display, a quad core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 mobile processor, running Android Ice Cream Sandwich and the new TouchWiz user interface integrated on top of it.It also features an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash. It's capable of recording full 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second. At the front there is a 1.9 megapixel camera that is capable of 720p HD videos for video chats.
