New Delhi: India's largest consumer electronics and mobile phone maker Samsung has the crown for now as the largest seller of smartphones in the domestic market.
According to latest findings by International Data Corporation, Samsung strengthened its smartphone market presence in India by scaling up its market share to 32.9 per cent in Q3 from 26 per cent in the second quarter of 2013. During the period under review, Samsung remained the only smartphone vendor in India that registered a positive growth in its market share.
Aiming to further consolidate its marketshare, Samsung recently launched mid-range Galaxy Grand 2 phablet in India. Rumours also suggest the handset maker will come out with a brand new Galaxy S smartphone, a device that is currently being dubbed Samsung Galaxy S5.
