New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Gionee has launched yet another phablet in the market, the GPad G4.
It is a dual-SIM device that packs in a 5.7-inch display offering resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Available in Graphite Black and Silver metallic colors, the Gionee GPad G4 is priced at 18,999.
The GPad G4 comes with an aluminium unibody design and is quite sleek at 7.95 mm thickness.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek 6589T quad-core processor paired with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The GPad G4 has a 13MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. The front-facing camera is a 5MP unit.
The smartphone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and comes fitted with a massive 3200 mAh battery, which should provide enough juice for the massive display and the quad-core processor.
Gionee has also added advance Smart Gesture control feature to the G4, to launch applications and activities using gestures.
Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, and GPS with A-GPS. While the GPad G4 offers 16GB onboard storage, there is no word on room for expandable storage slot.
The GPad G4 also gets additional features thanks to the customised Amigo OS. These include face beauty effects, hands free photos, gesture recognition, motion sensing, panorama mode (horizontal and vertical), face detection, and touch focus. One will also find in-built Digital Theatre System (DTS) technology for enhanced audio output, as well as the homebrewed Amigo professional camera interface and music player.
