Sony Xperia L

Market Price Rs. 18490
Rs. 15199 (On Flipkart -- 17% Off)

It is a good value for money device. The Xperia L is a 4.3-inch smartphone that comes with Sony's attractive styling, a dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera. It has an arched body that's reminiscent of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S phone, with a matte black back. The arch makes it comfortable to hold. It's 128mm long, 65mm wide and 9.7mm thick. Although the processing power of Xperia L is less as compared to 1.5 GHz processor we're seeing on premium smartphones, but it does not affect the handset's performance. Apps open and shut with a snap and animations are silky-smooth.

Also, its 854x480 resolution is pretty standard for a phone at this price. The Xperia L's LCD display doesn't give the true blacks of an AMOLED screen, but blacks are still very deep. It's a high-quality display for a relatively inexpensive handset. The Xperia L comes running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, which is now quite an old version of Google's mobile software. The Xperia L packs an 8-megapixel camera around the back. That's much less than the 13 megapixels of the Xperia Z, but given its price it is pretty much okay.

A 1,750mAh battery is certainly mediocre. Sony reckons you can get 8 hours 30 minutes of talk time from the phone.

With its sleek black and silver design, the Sony Xperia L is a good budget phone. However, it's let down though by its lacklustre performance, older, glitchy software, meagre storage and only adequate camera.
